Suspicious person
Anna Martin, chair of the Emergency Management Team, sent the following message to the campus community on Nov. 20, 2013 - Ed.
Dear William & Mary community,
I am writing to inform you of a suspicious woman who has been approaching students and members of our community on or near campus. In most cases, she is asking for rides or money. We have not received any reports that she has harmed anyone. The William & Mary Police have made contact with her. They served her a trespass warrant on Monday which means she must stay off campus. Witnesses describe her as a short, heavy set African American woman in her mid-30’s.
We have a community of caring people who are willing to offer help to those who appear in need. If you encounter this woman, please do not offer to drive her anywhere. Instead I would encourage you to contact the William &Mary Police Department at 221-4596 if you see her or other suspicious people on campus.
Take care out there.
Anna B. Martin
