Incident on Scotland Street

Dear William & Mary community:
I am writing to inform you about an incident that occurred early this morning near campus. Williamsburg Police responded to a report of a person being stabbed in the 700 block of Scotland Street. According to the report, police responded and found a victim who had a wound in his abdomen. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and is expected to make a full recovery. The victim was not associated with the College but we wanted to notify you about this incident – and the facts as we know them – since this will likely be reported on the news. Our police department has been in touch with Williamsburg Police, who investigated since this occurred off campus. They determined this was an isolated incident and did not foreshadow a broader threat to the campus community.
