W&M students invited to participate in Obama event
During the event, titled "A Conversation with President Obama," the president will talk with a diverse group of 250 young people, answering their questions as well as questions submitted by viewers via Twitter. According to an MTV News article, the show will be hosted by MTV's Sway Calloway, BET's April Woodard and CMT's Katie Cook.
The interactive one-hour event will air live and commercial-free on MTV, MTVu, BET, Centric, TR3s and CMT at 4 p.m. (ET) Oct. 14 and stream live on MTV.com, BET.com and CMT.com. Organizers of the event are contacting a series of schools in the region and inviting students to apply to participate. A casting director with MTV contacted William & Mary Tuesday morning.
Students interested in participating should send an e-mail with “Town Hall” in the subject line to TownHallAudience@mtvnmix.com. The e-mail should include a current picture and answers to the following questions, which are meant to ensure that the audience represents very diverse interests and political views:

• Hometown:
• In school? What school? Working? What job?
• What issues, if any, are you interested in or passionate about? (e.g. jobs, health care, education, immigration, etc.)
• How would you describe your political views?
Town Hall officials have asked that interested students respond as quickly as possible, ideally within the next 24 hours.
