Message regarding the search for a Dean of University Libraries

& Mary Provost Michael Halleran sent the following message to faculty and
staff Tuesday regarding the search for a Dean of University Libraries. -Ed
After twelve years of innovative and successful leadership, Connie McCarthy is
retiring from her position as Dean of University Libraries at the end of this
academic year. In consultation with President Reveley and the Faculty
Assembly, I have appointed a search committee for the position of Dean of
University Libraries. The committee is charged with recommending to the
President and me, by April 1, 2010, no fewer than three candidates for this
position.

The committee will soon advertise the vacancy and invite nominations and
