Ukrop Way to be closed temporarily for business school construction
A short section of Ukrop Way on the campus of the
College of William and Mary will be closed temporarily due to
construction work at the future home of the Mason School of Business.
During the closure, Landrum Drive will be opened to through traffic
from Ukrop Way to Jamestown Road.
Starting December 1, flagmen will be stationed on Ukrop Way between the
Morton Hall parking lot exit and the parking deck to direct traffic,
which will be limited briefly to alternating one-way traffic. Beginning
December 6, Ukrop Way will be temporarily closed to all traffic between
the Morton Hall lot exit and just before the exit of the parking deck.
The parking deck will remain open. This section of Ukrop Way will be
closed until January 11 so that crews can conduct utility line work
needed for the business school’s new Alan B. Miller Hall.
Scheduled to open in the fall of 2009, work began last spring on the
state-of-the-art 160,000-square-foot structure. When completed, Miller
Hall -- which will be located between Jamestown Road and Ukrop Way --
will serve as a western gateway to the William and Mary campus.
