William & Mary Theatre & Dance Affiliated Diverse Alumni Return to Share Their Stories
The Untethered, a troupe of BIPOC Theatre alumni, present their new work in "Homecoming”. This never-before-seen live online event series features performances of song, dance, spoken word and monodrama exploring the quest of diverse artists to carve out their own space at W&M and the American creative landscape. Followed by an open discussion from the cast, “Homecoming” is more than a performance, it is a “liberated unspooling of untold stories from W&M community”.
This virtual theatre event will have 4 different production runs. Tickets are $7.

Conceptualized, Written, Produced, and Directed by Francis Tanglao-Aguas |
Francis Tanglao-Aguas is the founder and artistic director of Aguas Arts Ink, an arts company with a view to diversifying imaginations and creative landscapes. As a playwright, performer, producer, director and educator, his work illuminates untold stories and hidden histories of the marginalized, minoritized and subalterned. He is the author of "Ramayana La'ar," "Sitayana: Journey of Womanhood," "Abuja Woman," "Where the Carabao Sleeps," and " "When the Purple Settles" which won the Palanca Award, the Philippines' National Prize for Literature. His one man shows "The Sarimanok Travels" and "The Imelda Marcos Lecture Series on Tyranny" have been performed in Asia and the United States. His theatre work has been seen at the Asian American Theatre Company, The Washington DC Fringe Festival, Tanghalang Ateneo, Ateneo de Manila University, Kenyon College, Georgetown University, UCLA, William & Mary, Old Dominion University, Singapore Management University, the American Writers Festival in Singapore, and the International Islamic University Malaysia. He is currently Director of William & Mary's Global Studies Program where he teaches as Professor of Theatre and Asian & Pacific Islander American Studies.

Producer, Broadcast Designer, and Stage Manager: Margot Flanders |
Margot Flanders is a senior majoring in Theatre and minoring in English at William and Mary. She works as a Production Manager, Director, Dramaturg, Stage Manager and many other positions. Margot is the Production intern and Graphic Designer for Aguas Arts Ink. She is on the executive boards for the Sinfonicron Light Opera Company and the Student Theatre Association. She is also the President of Shakespeare in the Dark. Margot also worked with the American Shakespeare Center Theatre Camp as a Production Intern. She is originally from Staunton, Virginia.

Documentary Screenwriter: Ivy He |
Xuanye He (Ivy) is an international student and a theatre/gender studies major at William & Mary. She has previously been involved in the W&M productions of The Children’s Hour and Hands Up: A Conversation. Ivy is excited to be the screenwriter for the documentary The Untethered. |

Documentary Director: Christine Rosa |
Christine Rosa is a Film and Media Studies major at William and Mary with a minor in Creative Writing. She will be graduating in May and looks forward to a little globetrotting before settling in for a graduate program. Christine is serving as Director for The Untethered documentary, and is excited to help provide a medium for voices to be heard and to bring the conversation of diversity to the forefront. |

Documentary Voiceover Artist: Sumie Yotsukura |
Sumié Yotsukura is an actor, singer, and dancer originally from Olney, MD. She is a current junior at William & Mary pursuing a B.A. in Theatre and Asian & Pacific American Studies. At the College, she serves on the executive boards of two theatre student organizations and has starred in several productions, including Ordinary Days: A Podcast (Claire), Sense & Sensibility (Marianne), A Chorus Line (Diana), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Marcy), and The Drowsy Chaperone (Janet). Credits elsewhere include Sweet Charity (Nickie), West Side Story (Consuela), The Music Man (Marian), and And Then There Were None (Vera). |
