Welcome Aarushi and Matthew!
Each week W&M Public Policy profiles two new MPP students. This week we are pleased to welcome Aarushi Desai and Matthew Nwaneri to the program.
Welcome, Aarushi Desai! Aarushi spent her summer interning at Guidehouse consulting firm in the public sector financial services. While working there, Aarushi was able to build relationships, create meaningful projects, and utilize policy in the world of consulting. Aarushi has worked in the public, nonprofit, and other sectors; however, she was unaware of how much public policy played a role in a consulting firm, let alone in financial services. During her ten-week internship, Aarushi had the opportunity to apply policy concepts and skills when complex financial situations arose, which ultimately challenged her to step out of her comfort zone.
Welcome, Matt Nwaneri! During the summer, Matt continued his research with the Listening to Leaders Team of AidData, a governmental development research lab at William & Mary. Matt’s research will contribute to the upcoming LTL policy report that surveys world leaders’ development priorities within low and middle-income countries. This research aims to promote progressive reforms and ultimately evaluate development group performances.
