The Schroeder Center for Health Policy recently invited three W&M students to share their summer health policy experiences with other W&M students interested in similar work. Hannah Garfinkel (BA, Public Policy/English, 2022; MPP, 2023) spoke about her policy internship at the health policy consulting firm, Healthsperien. Nicole Larsen (BA, Public Policy with a Public Health minor, 2023) discussed her role as a student intern at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).And Kiran Rachamallu (BA, Public Policy/Biology, 2023) described his health policy internships at the American Institutes for Researchand the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The students’ remarks focused on their internship responsibilities, development of career networks, what they learned, tips for students looking for similar health policy internships, and advice for making the most of their internship experiences. This panel discussion is the most recent talk in the Schroeder Center’s efforts to help W&M students understand the important work available in the field of health policy.
