Manna ranks in top 100 in 2013 Edu-Scholar Public Presence Rankings
Today, Rick Hess, director of education policy studies at the American Enterprise Institute, released his 2013 Edu-Scholar Public Presence Rankings, which attempts to recognize university-based academics who are contributing most substantially to public debates about K-12 and higher education. This year's rankings included College of William & Mary professor Paul Manna, who was #94 on the list. The bulk of Manna's score was attributed to the books he has published, including School's In: Federalism and the National Education Agenda (Georgetown University Press, 2006) and Collision Course: Federal Education Policy Meets State and Local Realities (CQ Press, 2011). Not yet reflected in the scoring is a forthcoming book that he and Patrick McGuinn of Drew University (ranked #81 on the list) have co-edited; it is entitled Education Governance for the Twenty-First Century: Overcoming the Structural Barriers to School Reform (Brookings, 2013).
