Meet with an Advisor in the OUAA

There are multiple ways to meet with professional advisors in the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs. We are able to meet with students in-person or virtually.

Drop-in Academic Advising (available during the academic year on Thursdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m.)

*Please note there my be a short wait for an advisor to be available during drop in hours. Please plan accordingly.


Drop-in with a professional advisor is not meant to last more than 15 minutes. (Drop-in advising is not available for fellowships.)

Common Drop-in Advising questions may be about:

  • Determining which form or petition to complete
  • Quick review of current course registration
  • Getting a list of potential fellowship opportunities
  • Graduation requirements check for seniors in their final semester
  • If you have a questions/concern and aren’t sure where to go for support/consultation

  • Long-term academic planning
  • Drafting a petition
  • Discuss major/minor options
  • Planning a self-designed major
  • Identify curricular and co-curricular opportunities to further your academic goals
In-Person & Virtual Fellowship Advising Appointments for Current Students


If you would like to make an appointment for fellowship advising, please schedule an appointment by clicking on the "Fellowship Advising" button below.

Some common topics for a fellowship advising appointment (typically 30 minutes) are:

  • Helps students find fellowship opportunities which match their goals and accomplishments
  • Advise students through logistics of the fellowship application process
  • Provide writing assistance on fellowship application materials
In-Person & Virtual Petitions Advising Appointments for Current Students


If you would like to make an appointment for petition/academic exceptions advising, please schedule an appointment by clicking on the “Petition Advising” button below.

Some common topics for a petition advising appointment (typically 30 minutes) are:

  • Identify the type of petition(s) needed for your circumstance
  • Draft a petition for Committee on Academic Status or Committee on Degrees
  • Discuss and draft an appeal of a Committee on Academic Status decision

For General Academic Advising, you can select a specific advisor or meet with any of the team with availability. Drop-in Academic Advising hours (Thursdays 1-3 p.m.) don't require an appointment. Please note that you can book an appointment up to 10 days ahead. If you are not seeing appointment availability, please check back later as university holidays and closures are included in the 10 day window.
