Amy Quark named Sharpe Professor of Civic Renewal and Entrepreneurship and Mercator Fellow
Amy Quark has been appointed as the Sharpe Professor of Civic Renewal and Entrepreneurship, a position established through the generous support of Jane A. Sharpe and the late Robert F. Sharpe. This professorship emphasizes Community-based Learning and Research, aligning with W&M's dedication to innovative teaching and research that merges community engagement with academic study. The tenure of this professorship spans a three-year term.
In addition, Amy has been named a Mercator Fellow by TU Darmstadt and Goethe University Frankfurt. In this position, Amy will participate in the German Research Foundation (DFG) funded "Standards of Governance” research group that explores the ideas and practices of good governance in transnational regulatory arenas. “Standards of Governance” is an interdisciplinary research initiative of ten professors from TU Darmstadt and Goethe University Frankfurt from the fields of political science, sociology, philosophy and law.
