A&S welcomes Tarikul Islam as next Senior Associate Dean for Finance & Administration
Tarikul Islam recently joined the Arts & Sciences’ Dean’s office as senior associate dean for finance and administration, replacing Sherri Powers upon her retirement. Tarikul’s areas of responsibility include A&S fiscal strategy, resource allocation, and budget management, department and program administration, human resources, and data and information resources.
Tarikul previously served as the director of academic resource planning for the College of Engineering and College of Science at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he led the colleges’ annual and multi-year budget planning process, and assisted the dean with financial planning and forecasting, resource allocation and business operations.
Prior to his time at the University of Texas, Tarikul was the director of administration and finance at the Merrick School of Business, University of Baltimore, where he provided oversight for the school’s financial and human capital management system’s deployment and use, and managed complex organizational functions related to recruitment and compensation.
