NYT quotes Jaime Settle on Politics & Human Nature

When New York Times reporter Thomas B. Edsall was writing his story, How Could Human Nature Have Become This Politicized?, he sought the expertise of William & Mary's own Associate Professor Jaime Settle. With funding from the National Science Foundation, Settle's research describes how political interactions, from face-to-face to online platforms, affect the ways people perceive conflict, evaluate others and engage in the political system. Edsall closes his piece about the political divide in America quoting Settle's explanation that "culture war" issues may be especially divisive because of the way they threaten our identities.
