APSC Student Secures Harvard Postdoctoral Fellowship
Applied Science Ph.D. candidate, Eden Maness has secured a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard University beginning August 2021. She will be working under Dr. Bob Strecker exploring the role of cortical oscillations in consciousness and attention both in a general sense and in the contexts of psychiatric illnesses with an emphasis on schizophrenia and Alzheimer's disease. Eden is currently co-advised by APSC Professor Christopher Del Negro and Psychology Professor Josh Burk. She is scheduled to defend her dissertation this summer.
For other students interested, there are several postdoctoral and research associate positions are available in the laboratory of Drs. Strecker, McNally, McKenna, and Brown at the West Roxbury campus of VA Boston Healthcare System. Projects involve preclinical studies of the brain circuitry which controls sleep, wakefulness, attention and cortical oscillations in mice and applying this knowledge to mouse models of neurological and psychiatric disorders affecting veterans.
