Van der Veen's Findings on Press Coverage of Islam

Polls suggest that a substantial share of public opinion in western countries are hostile to Islam which might lead to the thesis that negative media reporting is partly responsible. But Professor Maurits van der Veen and three colleagues found that press coverage of Islam is in fact generally positive when the focus is on religious devotion. Their research appeared recently in the Washington Post's Monkey Cage.
