Winning Art Selected in Student Contest
Finalists and a winner in the Arts & Sciences 2011 Student Art Contest have been announced by the Dean's Office.
The contest was open to all students currently enrolled at William and Mary. Entries were judged by a small committee consisting of a professor in the Art and Art History Department, a curator from the Muscarelle Museum, communications staff in the Dean's Office, and the Dean of Arts & Sciences.
The winning entry is an oil painting by Claire DeMarco '13, featuring the Jefferson sculpture and oak trees located between Ewell Hall and Washington Hall. Claire will receive a $200 prize.
The judging committee also designated three art works as finalists in the contest.
