Gabriel Stone directs the Early Music Ensemble and the Brass Ensemble as well as teaching Applied Tuba, Euphonium. He has performed as a low brass specialist throughout the East Coast on Tuba, Serpent, and Ophicleide. Mr. Stone was a musician for over 20 years at Colonial Williamsburg playing a variety of instruments including Serpent, Baroque Guitar, Baroque Flute, and Hurdy-Gurdy. He performed Haydn’s The Creation with the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival Orchestra on Serpent and is featured in the Showtime Miniseries The Good Lord Bird playing Hurdy Gurdy. He holds a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Music and Certificate in Tuba Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory.
