The Honors Program
The Honors Program is a year-long research project you design and conduct under supervision by a professor. It culminates in a thesis paper and oral exam. You get to pick the topic, but you have to have a certain GPA to qualify for it. Several programs in the Department of Modern Languages support the Honors Program.
The Charles Center is responsible for coordinating the program. You will follow all Charles Center guidelines, as well as the guidelines from the program in which you do your project:
Honors projects are typically done as part of your major. Thus, we only have official honors programs in programs where we offer a major. If you wish to do an Honors project in a program not listed, talk to your major advisor. Some interdisciplinary honors projects include a modern language.
