Aaron Chivington – Elsa Diduk Book   Prize in German Studies

Benjamin Fontana – German Studies   Book Prize, member of Phi Beta Kappa

    

Faith Christeen App - Fulbright   Teaching Award in Austria, 2009-2010. Faith, an avid outdoorsperson, has been   placed in Innsbruck in Tyrol, the Austrian Alps. Arriving at W&M as a   transfer student, Faith catapulted into GRMN 320 and has been an active   member of the German House and a German Studies TA at W&M.

    

Lauren Shaw - Fulbright   Teaching Award in Austria, 2009-2010. German Studies and International   Relations major Lauren Shaw, Class of '09, has received a Fulbright Teaching   Assistantship to Austria. Lauren will be located in Kärnten, near the   Slovenian border, teaching in two schools.

    

Rachel Simmons - Fulbright   Teaching Award in Austria and Fulbright Teaching Award in Germany (declined),   2009-2010; German Studies and Linguistics major Rachel Simmons ('09) has   received a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship in Austria for the academic year   2009-2010. She will probably be teaching English at a school in Feldkirch,   Vorarlberg, located in the Alps.

    

Dustin Smith - Fulbright   Teaching Award in Austria and Fulbright Teaching Award in Germany (declined),   2009-2010. Dustin has been accepted with full support in the form of Teaching   Assistantships and Fellowships for the four year Ph.D. program in Germanic   Languages and Literatures at UIUC. A large Department with fourteen full-time   faculty members and at least seven professors participating from other   Departments, UIUC is one of the leading programs in German Studies in the   United States. Dustin has also been awarded a Fulbright Teaching   Assistantship for Germany for 2009-2010. He has deferred his UIUC admission   and will begin grad school in the Fall of 2010.
