Natalya Peretyatko, adjunct Lecturer of Modern Languages & Literatures in Russian Studies is an experienced teacher of Russian language for children and adults, and the director of the Russian School of Hampton Roads, VA. She has taught Russian for the last 16 years, and founded the Russian School of Hampton Roads when she moved in the area 15 years ago. She has worked with children from Russian and bilingual families, as well as native English speakers. The classes she teaches include not only spoken and written language, but also Russian culture, history, and geography. For the benefit of the students, she also offers speech therapy classes with the goal of helping children to learn clear sounds pronunciation and correct grammatical structure.
She is fluent in Russian, English, Italian and German. Her own experience of learning foreign languages is a big plus for understanding student challenges and nuances during the language acquisition process.
