Meet our new faculty
The Japanese Studies program welcomes Shinji Shimoura to William and Mary! We are thrilled to have Professor Shimoura join us in Williamsburg and be part of our program.
For the 2023-2024 academic year Professor Shimoura will teach at the 200 and 400 levels of our Japanese language program. He will also be active with the Japanese Language House, so stay tuned for news of upcoming events.
Before coming to William and Mary in the fall of 2023 Professor Shimoura taught at the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he taught courses in Japanese language across many levels of instruction. USF is also his alma mater; he earned an MA in Linguistics/TESOL from that institution as part of his graduate studies.
