Sé que lisosomas son órganos vesiculares.

Sé de ciencias que terminan en "logía."

He aprendido los ritmos de los tambores.

Puedo calcular el precio de un bono municipal.

Acabo de ganar mi licencia de piloto.

Mi informe escolar sólo conoce la primera letra del alfabeto.

Ellos me elogian y me dan palmaditas.

Piensan que es lindo que sé de ciencia.

Las melodías que son tan importantes para mí

añaden "sabor" a mi resumen, dicen.

Mi talento para hacer cálculos es impresionante, dicen,

admirando mi corbata azul marino con rayas diagonales.

Éxito tendré, dicen.

Y si bien lo dicen

y si bien me dan mi licencia

no estoy seguro que volaré, ni querré volar

I know that lysosomes are vesicular organelles.

I know all of the sciences that end in "ology."

I have learned the rhythms of the drums.

I can calculate the price of a municipal bond.

I just earned my pilot's license.

My report card knows only the first letter of the alphabet.

They praise me and pat me on the back.

They think it's nice that I know science.

The melodies that are so important to me

add "flavor" to my résumé, they say.

My talent for calculations is impressive, they say,

admiring my navy blue, diagonally-striped tie.

I am destined to succeed, they say.

And though they say it

and though they give me my license

I'm not sure if I will fly, or if I want to.
