Rebeca Pineda Burgos received her PhD in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures from The Graduate Center, CUNY, New York. Her research focuses on contemporary Venezuelan cultural objects as novels, film, and visual art and their interpretation of chavismo and sociopolitical Venezuelan reality.
