In German Studies, we are used to our students receiving many prestigious fellowships, and we typically send 2-3 students per year to Germany or Austria on a Fulbright. So imagine our exuberance as we learned that a full 7 of our students (some GS majors, some GS minors, and some students affiliated with our program through the numerous courses they have taken with us and our Study Abroad programs they have participated in) have been awarded a Teaching Assistantship position to teach English at a German or Austrian high school. We congratulate Victoria Baltes, Gabriel Black-Planas, Andy Fisher, Sapana Satyal, Rose Shafer, Charlotte Walters, and Rachel Vasan on their achievement and hope they return to campus to tell their stories.
