Students won awards in National Meetings
Math major students, Andrew Wilcox and Virginia Forstall won
the first prize in the MAA and NSF jointly sponsored Poster Session
at the 2010 Joint Mathematics Meetings, San Francisco, CA.
Andrew Wilcox's research is part of NSF-CSUMS program of Math
department. Andrew’s dissertation was under the direction of Tanujit
Dey and Chi-Kwong Li. Virginia Forstall's research is part of the REU program at NCSU.
Patrick Steele, a Math major, won Honorable distinction award for
the poster presentation at the Data Expo competition at 2009 Joint
Statistical Meetings, Washington, D.C. His research is supported by
Chappell Research Fellowship and NSF-CSUMS. Patrick's work was guided by Tanujit Dey and David Phillips.
