Nelson wins 2011 Plumeri Award for Faculty Excellence
Professor Scott Nelson has won a 2011 Plumeri Award for Faculty Excellence. Created by alumnus and former Board of Visitor member Joseph J. Plumeri ('66), the Plumeri Awards carry with them a cash prize of $10,000 to be spent on research opportunities and materials, professional development, or other expenses associated with research or teaching.
Professor Nelson is the third faculty member in the Department of History to have received a Plumeri Award. Professor Kris Lane received a Plumeri Award in 2009, and Professor Lu Ann Homza received a Plumeri Award in 2010.
