The Department of History stands against racism, hatred, bigotry, and inequality in all their forms, whether personal or institutional. Eloquent statements from Professors Allen, Petty, and Vinson address the historical, political, and cultural implications of the current pandemic and the social and political upheavals sparked by pernicious racial and economic inequalities in this country. The recent murders in the Asian community in Atlanta and the increasing incidence of anti-Asian attacks around the country are further evidence of our need for continued vigilance and we fully endorse William & Mary's recent statement on this specific issue.
