Committee on Graduate Studies
The Committee on Graduate Studies (COGS) is responsible for the overall administration of graduate programs in Arts & Sciences. The committee is composed of the faculty members who have been designated by each department/program as the Director of Graduate Studies for that department/program. It is chaired by the Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies. In graduate studies, COGS plays the role of the Educational Policy Committee, the Committee on Degrees, and the Academic Status Committee.
The committee meets every other week throughout the academic year. Time-sensitive business may also be conducted via e-mail during the academic year and summer.
