Settle takes Wakefield
William & Mary’s own Government Associate Professor Jamie Settle was recently awarded the distinguished Wakefield professorship.
The professorship is a three-year named program that provides a salary supplement and research stipend. Settle is interested in research in American Politics, Political Psychology, Biological Components of Political Behavior, Social Networks and Social Media. On campus she teaches courses on various aspects of American politics, focusing primarily on topics related to political behavior, psychology, and communication.
Settle shares that she feels “incredibly honored to receive the Wakefield professorship” and is looking forward to using the support to worth with William and Mary’s own students in her SNaPP research lab on their various on-going projects.
Settle feels “very fortunate to be a recipient of such generosity from donors the W&M community.”
Settle has previously been called William and Mary’s “latest rising star” after being honored with the State Council for Higher Education in Virginia’s Rising Star Award in 2018. Congratulations Professor and keep up the good work!
