Jaime Settle is a 2018 “Rising Star”
Professor Jaime Settle is among the winners of the State Council for Higher Education in Virginia’s 2018 “Outstanding Faculty Awards.” Every year, the Council gives out twelve “Outstanding Faculty” awards to faculty across Virginia’s institutions of higher education, celebrating the “highest level of scholarship, teaching, mentoring, public service and research.” This award is the highest honor any faculty member at a Virginia institution can receive.
Professor Settle was even more distinguished as a “Rising Star,” which recognizes early-career achievement. She is one of two 2018 recipients to receive this specific honor.
In her time at the College, Professor Settle has become known for her intellectually challenging Intro to American Politics classes, her directorship of the Social Networks and Political Psychology Lab, and her co-directorship of the Social Science Research Methods Center. Her research focuses on political engagement and social media. She is an outstanding professor and well deserving of the “Rising Star” award. Congratulations, Professor Settle!
