First Todd Weaver Scholarship Awarded
David Newbrander, the first recipient of the scholarship, will be using it to study abroad in Amann, Jordan during the spring of 2012.
The presentation was made by the chair of the Department of Government, John McGlennon, at the Homecoming reception held on Saturday, October 22. Todd Weaver's family was on hand to meet the recipient and participate in the presentation of the award. It was particularly fitting that the scholarship was awarded on Todd's birthday.
Applicants were asked to describe the travel to be supported by the scholarship, and to explain how the scholarship will enable them to reflect Todd’s desire to better understand the world and to be of service to people in other nations.
