Journal Editing

Each Department Chair and/or Program Director will ascertain from the faculty member whether the journal is already providing compensation for editorial work and whether this compensation is inclusive of student assistants and communicate this information to the Vice Dean(s). If there is no support for student assistants, then:  

• The A&S Dean’s office provides $1500 for editorial responsibilities to support student assistants; this is roughly for 5 hours/week of assistance for two semesters 
• The department is expected to provide any necessary funding above the $1500 amount 

• No course reductions are provided for editorial work 

• No A&S Dean’s office monetary support to the faculty member is provided
