2015 Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence
Citation for Anne Charity Hudley
Professor Hudley is a vibrant, engaging, knowledgeable, and hard-working classroom teacher, who inspires her students and draws their deep respect and devotion in return. Her teaching evaluations consistently place her among the most successful teachers in Linguistics and English, and her classes are always highly sought-after by students. She brings to her teaching a rich diversity of skills and an appetite for work, incorporating an active scholarship that includes two books published in educational linguistics and her knowledge from tirelessly giving talks to universities and attending specialist conferences and institutes. Her continuing rise in standing and influence can only increase her value to William and Mary's students, both during their years of learning on campus and as they move into careers upon graduation. It is fitting that she now be recognized with the Arts and Sciences 2015 Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence.
