Professor Dallaire's integration of high-quality research with an applied community focus is unique and provides immeasurable benefits to both her students and the community. She consistently has taught a freshman seminar in Families, Law, and Psychology; upper-level courses in Motivation and Emotion, Developmental Psychology, Advanced Research Methods in Developmental Psychology, and Service-Learning in Developmental Psychology; and a graduate-level proseminar in Lifespan Development. In all of these courses she has won the acclaim of students, who note her enthusiasm and passion for the topic, knowledge of the course material, rigorous standards, supportiveness and helpfulness, and, perhaps most importantly, the knowledge and analytical skills they learn while under her tutelage. Peer evaluations of her teaching remark on her outstanding ability to foster classroom discussion and engage the students in critical thinking. It is fitting that she now be recognized with the Arts and Sciences 2015 Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence.
