Internships for Academic Credit
Application Process
Applications must be submitted no later than one week before the start of the internship OR of the first semester during which the student will receive credit, whichever comes first.
All students wishing to apply for internship credit must complete the “Internship for Credit Application Form." The number of credits is determined by the number of hours you will be working. You will receive 1 credit for a total of 30 hours worked, 2 credits for a total of 60 hours worked, and 3 credits for a total of 90 hours worked. If you wish to complete your internship over the summer, you are advised to apply for credit for the fall semester, or you will be charged tuition over the summer. The completed and signed application form should be submitted to the Chair of the English Department Undergraduate Program Committee, along with a copy of your degree evaluation. It should be clear from your degree evaluation that you have fulfilled at least half of the requirements for the English major, and have at least a 3.0 major GPA.
Once your application is approved by the Chair of the English Department Undergraduate Program Committee, resubmit your application form to the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs.
