Biography
Martin Schmidt joined the economics faculty in 2004. Prior to coming to William and Mary he taught at Portland State University, and held visiting positions at Oregon State University and Southern Oregon State College. His academic interests include macroeconomics, monetary economics, and applied econometrics. His current research focuses upon empirical measurement of U.S. monetary policy and its role in recent economic fluctuations within fully-specified structural models. Outside of the classroom, Professor Schmidt enjoys most sports, old-time radio, and a variety of live and recorded music, especially the blues.
