Biography
Nara Sritharan earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. At the College, she teaches "Economics of Identity" and "Empirical Microeconomics" in the Economics Department and the Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy. Nara has been awarded the prestigious Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) fellowship and has held postdoctoral fellowships at AidData, a research lab at the Global Research Institute (GRI), and at the Foreign Policy Research Institute as a Templeton Fellow. Her current research focuses on the flow of foreign aid from both traditional and non-traditional donors and its adverse impacts on the Global South, as well as migration issues. She has received research support from the International Growth Centre and Open Philanthropy. Nara continues her work at AidData's Policy and Analysis Unit.
