Not a Major?
Studying the Classical world and languages can inform many fields. We offer a broad selection of introductory courses that are available to non-Classical Studies-majors. If you are just getting started with ancient languages, we offer elementary courses open to all. Many of our Classical Civilization courses do not have prerequisites, and are open to all students, including:

- Greek Civilization (CLCV 207 – also fulfills COLL 200 ALV or CSI)
- Roman Civilization (CLCV 208 – also fulfills COLL 200 ALV or CSI)
- Greek Archaeology & Art (CLCV 217 - also fulfills COLL 200 ALV)
- Roman Archaeology & Art (CLCV 218 - also fulfills COLL 200 ALV)
- Urbanism in the Ancient World (CLCV 314 – also fulfills COLL 200 ALV or CSI)
- Ancient Comedy (CLCV 318)
- The Invention of History Writing in Antiquity (CLCV 319)
- Pagans & Christians (CLCV 320)
- Roman Britan (CLCV 320)
- Pompeii & Herculaneum (CLCV 342 - also fulfills COLL 200 ALV or CSI)
