"Broad and Narrow Cultural Comparisons of Children's Emotion Regulation: Studies of Ghana and the United States"
My thesis examines how children's management of their emotional experience (i.e. emotion regulation) varies in different cultures. I have two parts to my thesis. In the first, I compare children living in an orphanage in Ghana to children living in the village with their families. In the second part, I matched every Ghanaian child from the village with a Caucasian and African-American child of the same age and gender and am comparing across cultures.
