This weekly virtual course features a different alumni or friend of the university each week talking about their specialty and the preparation necessary to achieve their current position, from early medical students to MD/PHD candidates to residents, to esteemed physicians, biomedical researchers, and those who have branched out in unexpected directions. With guidance from W&M faculty members, students prepare for each conversation by reading in advance and submitting questions to ask the guest. A different slate of guests presents in the Fall and Spring semesters, but this course can only be taken once for credit and class size is limited to ~30 to maintain a discussion atmosphere even in a virtual format.
