ISC Courtyard Ponds
Funded by a William & Mary Green Fee Project proposed by Biology Professors P. Heideman and M. Leu
Aquatic mesocosms were installed in the Integrated Science Center (ISC) courtyard with the aim of encouraging others to observe and enjoy a small pond system, and even to duplicate the effort to maintain an aquatic mesocosm at home. The ponds are home to fish, invertebrates, aquatic plants, and surrounded by other vegetation and mosses. Educational materials are posted on the pond structure, organized by the following topics:
