William & Mary Arboretum
When you walk around our campus and see our matured landscape, you are looking at the visions of our academic predecessors who planted a rich green heritage to inspire, instruct, and beautify – one they could only imagine for the decades and centuries ahead. Now, lost in shades of green around us are over 300 kinds of woody plants whose identities and histories are known to only a few.
Beginning in spring, 2024, we will launch the Arboretum Explorer website and begin to catalogue our living heritage and become a certified arboretum. The Explorer will allow you to search for plants, take a virtual or outside tour, and find other highlighted features in the landscape.
