When to Ask for Help
The Web & Design Cascade Help and A&S Help pages cover about 90 percent of the web tasks you'll encounter. When you hit a snag and want help, check those sites first.
But never fight with Cascade for more than 15 minutes. After that, reach out for help. For now, email [[creative, Web & Design]] with your questions
Unusual Tasks
Some tasks come up less frequently, and you should reach out before charging ahead.
- Posting your own videos. There is a YouTube channel for A&S. If you have a video you want to post, but have no plans to make video creation a regular thing, ask someone in the Dean's Office to put your video on the A&S channel. There are accessibility, copyright, and other considerations for videos. You want to make sure you get this right.
- Major content overhauls. A lot of things can go wrong (but don't have to) when overhauling a website. If your plan to update your site involves moving files, deleteing files, or creating new sections of site, please ask for help.
- Archiving content, especially news stories. You can move items one at a time into an archive folder, but Web & Design can move a whole bunch at once – way quicker, and less tedious for you.
- Less common page types. Some page types (like those ever-popular grid pages) should be used rarely and need specialized attention and training. You won't find these in the asset factory behind the pink plus. Ask for help.
