Mechanized Flotation Tutorial for Research Participation June 15 - August 11
Calling all anthropology students! I (Dr. Abigail Buffington of the Department of Anthropology) have generated a video tutorial for conducting mechanized flotation in partnership with the Jamestown Rediscovery Curator Leah Stricker and Social Media Director Angel Johnston. The tutorial is part of a STLI grant funded and PHSC approved project on expanding access to fieldwork opportunities via different modalities for fieldwork. Please participate in the tutorial viewing on Panopto (both captions and visual aid accompaniment of ASL interpretation are included) and follow-up survey in Qualtrics (total time commitment is less than 15 minutes). Your participation (anonymous) will contribute to research on archaeological science engagement and hopefully, expanding the inclusivity of fieldwork and anthropological archaeology generally. Follow this link to participate.
Tutorial and Survey are live from June 15th to August 11th. For any questions about the tutorial or project, email PI, Dr. Abigail Buffington [[afbuffington]]. If you have concerns or dissatisfactions with this research study, please contact Dr. Jennifer Stevens, chair of the WM Protection of Human Subject Committee (PHSC).
