Why W&M?
I chose the Murray Scholars Program because I felt that it offered all of the opportunities one would find at an Ivy League school, but in the context of a public school. I was very impressed with what I experienced at William and Mary-the students were friendly, the professors were interested in the students' education, and the administration was working hard to make the students' experiences the best they could be. I know I made the right decision.
Awards and Honors
- Borish Prize for best English major
- Outstanding Greek Scholar
- Vice-president of A Cappella Council
Where am I now?
I am working on my Ph.D. in English at University of Wisconsin - Madison. I have "seen the light" (according to former W&M advisor Deb Morse) and become a Victorianist. My broad biology background is considered a great asset in my program as science and medicine are now considered a helpful lens for understanding 19th Century British literature.
