W&M is committed to guaranteeing a funded internship to every undergraduate who seeks one. Since 2021, W&M has quadrupled the number of students who receive support for unpaid or underfunded internships, and funding to support students has tripled. More than 24,000 internships with 12,000 employers are posted each year. Medicine & Music
As a student, Dr. Mike Fitch ’93 participated in undergraduate research at W&M’s Virginia Institute of Marine Science and eventually joined his mentor, now-retired professor Lloyd Guth, to perform neuroscience research. He also co-founded the Gentlemen of the College, one of the university’s oldest a cappella groups.
