Who am I?
I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Georgia and transitioned to Virginia with my family in 2015. I was instantly drawn to the history and culture of Hampton Roads and immersed myself in EVERY civic and social activity that this area has to offer (Busch Gardens is my absolute favorite place). As a seasoned professional with more than 22 years in K-12 and higher education, I am known for my commitment and determination to ensuring that all students succeed. I am a lifelong advocate for the rights of underserved and underrepresented students and work diligently to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard and matters.
Why W&M?
The sense of community is refreshing and endearing. From the moment I stepped on campus, I was greeted by students and members of staff that made me feel that I belong here! The aesthetic of the campus is picturesque and I absolutely adore walking the campus and feeling the history that this campus invokes. At W&M, you feel safe, supported and, most importantly, valued.
Why Admission?
I have always had a focus on students and helping them to reach their full potential is one of my biggest joys. Helping them overcome their fears during a process that can sometimes seem daunting is an extreme honor. I welcome the opportunity to be a part of their success.
What I do for Admission
I am responsible for the amazing students in the Tidewater Region (Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and surrounding areas). I am also the lead of the Diversity & Access Team.
Fun Facts
- I was born and raised in the state of Georgia, but developed an allergy to peaches and had to stop eating them (it was a dark time).
- I had a fear of dogs throughout much of my life. I am now the proud mom of two fur babies and cannot imagine my life without them!
- Three important life milestones for me happened in the month of April: I became a member of the best sorority (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority), married the love of my life, and my amazing son was born!
