Who am I?
Hey there! I’m Antonio Dill-Word, a Philadelphia native with a passion for education, mentorship, and making sure everyone has a chance to succeed. I’m a proud graduate of both William & Mary and the University of Pennsylvania. My journey, especially as a former foster youth, has shaped me into someone who’s dedicated to creating opportunities for others. I earned a Master of Applied Positive Psychology at UPenn, where my capstone, The Integrated Positive Development Model of Aging-In, focused on improving outcomes for foster youth after emancipation. It’s a cause close to my heart, and I bring that passion to everything I do.Why William & Mary?
William & Mary is where I found my spark! After transferring here, I dove into research, joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and discovered how transformative this place can be. The tight-knit community, challenging academics, and rich traditions gave me the foundation I needed to grow as a student and a leader. William & Mary is a place where people from all walks of life can find their way, and I’m excited to help future students experience that same magic. Why Admission?
Admissions is my way of giving back! As a former foster youth, I know how life-changing access to education can be. That’s why I’m passionate about helping others, especially those from diverse backgrounds, find their path to success. I love meeting students, hearing their stories, and helping them see how William & Mary can be their home. For me, it’s not just about getting them here—it’s about seeing them thrive and grow as members of the William & Mary “Tribe.”What I do for Admissions
In my role as an Admissions Counselor, I’m part of the Diversity and Access team, where I work to make sure underrepresented students have the tools and support they need to succeed. I also help run some pretty cool programs, like the Home for the Holidays Program, where current students get to present about William & Mary at their high schools over winter break, and the Griffin Ambassadors Program, where students share their personal stories with prospective students. My mission? To make sure every student feels like they belong and can thrive at William & Mary.Fun Facts
- When I’m not busy working with students, I’m a total foodie—always on the lookout for the next great meal!
- I also have two awesome dogs who keep me on my toes, and in my downtime, you’ll probably find me gaming. It’s all about finding that balance between work and fun!
