Application Process
For the 2024-25 academic year, eligible students are welcome to apply for both the Lemon Scholarship Endowment ($4,850 one-time award) and the Anne R. Willis Scholarship Endowment ($4,200 one-time award). Students submitting the application below will be considered for both awards.
Application Questions
- Based on the program description and guidelines above, do you affirm that you meet the qualifications for consideration for the Enslaved Ancestors College Access Scholarship and Memorial Program and are willing to have your information shared with SCHEV (State Council for Higher Education in Virginia) if selected for either scholarship? Y/N
- If you responded “yes”, please give a brief explanation (200 words or less) why you are eligible for the scholarship and would benefit from the scholarship.

Selection Process
- Deadline to Submit Application: July 28th , 2024
- Notification of Scholarship recipients: mid-August 2024 (due to unexpected delays, recipients will be notified in mid-September)
The Office of Financial Aid will coordinate the selection process and oversee the awarding of the scholarships. All students who submit the application by the deadline and meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for the scholarships. If there are more eligible applicants than available scholarships, a committee will select recipients from all eligible applications.
