Summary

The Values in Action Award for Recognized Student Organizations will recognize up to five RSO’s each semester with a $500 award for the way in which the organization(s) demonstrate and make visible our university values.

Full Description

The Values in Action Award for Recognized Student Organizations (RSO’s) has been created to recognize student organizations whose activities and initiatives exemplify William & Mary's stated values: Belonging, Curiosity, Excellence, Flourishing, Integrity, Respect and Service. These values are both reflective of and aspirational for the W&M community. The Values In Action Award (that also recognizes faculty and staff) was made possible through a generous gift from two anonymous donors.

Student Organizations are at the center of the W&M student experience. The Values in Action Award for Recognized Student Organizations will recognize up to five RSO’s each semester with a $500 award for the way in which the organization(s) demonstrate and make visible our university values.

The application for the Fall 2024 Values in Action Award for Recognized Student Organizations can be found on the SLD TribeLink page and will be due by 11:59pm on Sunday, November 10th.

Values in Action Award Application

Successful applications from Recognized Student Organizations are those that connect recent activities and/or initiatives to the chosen value.  When submitting your application, we also ask that you submit 1-2 pictures that showcase your organization (and your chosen value).

Selection will be made in mid November by SLD Staff.  Award disbursement will be a 1-time $500 check payment to recognized student organizations who are eligible to enroll in buyW&M. RSO’s who are not eligible to enroll in buyW&M will work with SLD to create purchase requests through their TribeLink account in order to access the award funds.
